Buckhead Forest Students Walk to Sarah Smith Elementary

A group of Buckhead Forest students and parents participated in the Georgia Walk to School Day on March 7 by walking to Sarah Smith Elementary. The event included walkers to both the Primary and Intermediate campuses.

β€œWe knew it would be fun to organize the event and all walk over to school together. The weather was great, and we all enjoyed strolling down the Hank Farmer Trail to school,” says Tara Hicks, mother of two Sarah Smith students.

The neighborhood walk took on added significance this year, in light of Atlanta Public School's upcoming redistricting decisions. And the walkers from Buckhead Forest were more than happy to express their long held affection for the Sarah Smith community.

When asked what she liked most about her children attending the school, Anita Anderson admitted, β€œIt’s impossible for me to choose just one thing. The teachers and administration are top notch. The parents are involved to a very high degree. Everyone works together to give our kids the best opportunity they can. And all our friends are here. We simply can’t imagine our children calling any other school home.”
