Arrest Made in Buckhead Carjacking, Armed Robbery

One of the victims was a grandmother whose car was stolen from Nieman Marcus' parking lot. Her grandchildren were with her at the time.

Atlanta, GA -- Police have arrested a man in connection with two Buckhead carjackings, one of which involved a 70-year-old woman whose two grandchildren were with her at the time of the incident.

Carlos Twine has been arrested in connection with a June 13 armed robbery and carjacking at the OK Cafe, as well as a carjacking that took place in the parking lot of Nieman Marcus that same week.

Anita Thomas was with her grandchildren at Nieman Marcus when the crime happened. She was approached by a man with a gun in the parking deck. Thomas gave the man her keys and her phone. Thomas' car, a blue 2015 Mercedes Benz, was found later in southwest Atlanta.

In the OK Cafe incident, a carjacker approached a couple in the restaurant's parking lot and demanded their keys at gunpoint. Police tracked the car, but the suspect got into another vehicle and escaped.

At the time of the incidents, police didn't know if the two crimes were connected, but now believe that Twine is responsible for both.
