Big Houses: Atlanta Ranks in Nation's Top 10 Markets
The nation's biggest homes are in Utah, but Atlanta ranks right up there with the Beehive State.
Atlanta is 10th in a new survey of the nation's metro areas with the biggest houses.
LawnStarterβs analysis relies on newly released data from the U.S. Census Bureauβs American Community Survey for 2015. The ranking is based on the number of homes in a metro area with at least eight rooms, rather than on the square footage of those homes.
The analysis covers the 100 most populous metros in the U.S.

Three of the top five places in the list are held by metro areas in Utah. Provo-Orem grabs the No. 1 spot, with 57 percent of owner-occupied homes there containing at least eight rooms. Atlanta's 43.1 percent at the right-room or higher level earns the 10th spot.
