Buckhead Bakery Robbed in Brazen Daylight Attack

Mae's Bakery on Lenox Road closed early on Tuesday after masked men broke through a window and stole from customers and the cash register.

A Buckhead bakery was the victim of a daylight robbery pulled off by armed men wearing masks on Tuesday, WSB-TV reports.

Mae’s Bakery, located on Lenox Road, was targeted by a group of armed robbers who smashed through one of the bakery’s front windows, then came inside and stole from patrons and the cash register. The armed men ordered the store’s patrons to lie on the ground, then the gunmen took their wallets. Less than $200 was taken from Mae’s Bakery’s till, WSB-TV said.

Following the attack, Mae’s closed shop for the day, but will be open for business again on Wednesday. The window which was broken by the robbers has been boarded up. The bakery’s owner wants to set up a neighborhood watch and is banding together with her business neighbors to ask their landlord for heightened security.
