Perfect? Is there such a thing? Up until last year, I thought not. Perfect is perception. If love is there, it exists. Perfect is the goal then. We all want love. Love sees no flaws. Therefore, perfect is a reality. I am talking about real, unconditional love here. Not a line you share when you have a deep emotional connection. Or worse yet, lust. Real love is more than a thing. It’s a place, an entity, a spiritual journey that once experienced is all consuming. Real love for me, has been a study. Simply put. A loss I need to understand.
I began a journey a little more than a year ago. It started with a healthy amount of fear and uncertainty. I will write about it when it ends. Until then, I am simply trying to wrap my head around the journey so far. I know that I reached the holy grail of single life. I found everything we all say we are chasing. I found love, perfection, more passion than one person should ever enjoy, and comfort. In short. I had it all. I was the luckiest man alive. I verbally said that.

Like Wile E Coyote when he sets the trap for the Road Runner. ACME is not enough to win. Failure shows up in the form of an anvil. He’s crushed for his efforts. Welcome to my world. I only wish the anvil fell but once. It fell so many times in the last year, it developed a cadence. One two three boom, one two three boom, one two three boom. You get the picture. The constant beat of failure. It is an interesting existence. Not a lot of fun. I tried dating everyone that wanted to go out, and dating no one. The later seemed to suit me better.
Full disclosure here. Perfection is perception. And attainable. If you like the idea.Stay open minded. Awesome is a state of mind. I would give anything to have it aimed at me again. How about you? I can attest. It makes life so much better. Of course failing at it, is devastating. The only hope is that it fades with time. I’ll let you know when or if that happens. Until then, I write, think, and study. Yes, study. There are scientific studies about this stuff. Yay! Not only can we hurt deeply. But science will eventually give it a name. A syndrome that can be treated with the very best big pharma has to offer. Lucky us.

The ability to be perfect in someone’s eyes. That too, must be like a superpower. Nothing flesh and blood could capture it. This one requires a cartoon of some kind. “Perfect Man” to the rescue! Man that sounds lame. But. It makes as much sense as much as the points I have mentioned. Perfection seems far fetched to all that never witnessed it in person. I guess I believe I have seen perfection. Although, I’m sure others seeing the same thing would question my judgement. Again, perception. It’s unfair to all. Especially the one you believe to be perfect. When they are done. They feel bad. Unfairly. they were not involved in the madness. Only unwitting recipients. Forgive them, and move on.
What does one do with all of this? Nothing. If you attempt to understand it, you will be as goofy as me trying to explain it. None of this makes sense until you have found perfection, or had the honor of someone finding it in you. To be told how life changing it is, is useless. It is only the experience that will allow one to know. Until then. Keep your mind open to the possibility that someone else might see you as perfect one day. It does happen. And believe it or not. It’s a good thing. It’s all about perception.

Remember to stay positive. Accept good things when they come your way. Love doesn’t happen to many. Perfection is there in the mix. Enjoy.
