Lepore worked with King and got to know him through her 11 years at CNN where she covered politics and international affairs. She anchored CNN Headline News for six years, earning a national news Emmy for her role in CNN’s coverage of the 1996 Olympic Park bombing. After her time at CNN, Lepore was appointed by Governor Perdue as Marketing Director at the Georgia Department of Economic Development where she was instrumental in revitalizing Georgia’s stature as a global business and travel destination. She launched commerce and tourism campaigns that attracted new business and generated additional jobs. Her efforts were valuable in expanding Georgia’s logistics, technology and entertainment industries.
