On Tuesday, March 13, Fadó Irish Pub & Restaurant and afternoon radio host Rich Sullivan of 92.9 davefm are hosting a whiskey tasting beginning at 7 p.m. For $39.95 per person, guests will enjoy a tasting of five whiskeys and six dishes. Master of Whisky Kevin Mulcahy of Diageo, the world’s leading premium spirits distributors, will be on hand to lead guests through the tasting and explain each whiskey to attendees. Seating is limited to 75 people, and the event will be held on the rooftop level of Fadó. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets online. The whiskey selection offered during the event includes Bushmills Black Bush, Bushmills 10, Bushmills Honey, Bushmills 1608 (Anniversary Edition) and the Pickleback (a shot of Bushmills White Label and a shot of pickle brine – a Fadó favorite!). The menu for the evening includes salmon bites, lamb and blue cheese sliders, hot brie rarebit, rasher and Irish cheddar stuffed mushrooms, mini cheesecakes. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to local Atlanta chapter and long time partners St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity organization that both Fadó and Sullivan strongly support. Fadó will also be hosting the 11th annual St. Baldrick’s charity event three days after the whiskey tasting on March 16 in order to support childhood cancer research. The restaurant sets up barber chairs and encourages “shavees” to commit to having their heads shaved that day. These “shavees” get family and friends to sponsor their head shave with monetary donations in order to raise funds for St. Baldrick’s. Since the first event in 2002, more than $600,000 has been raised for St. Baldrick’s at Fadó in Atlanta.
