House Minority Leader to Address Buckhead Business Association
Stacey Abrams will speak at BBA's quarterly luncheon Thursday

Ga. House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams of Atlanta will speak at the Buckhead Business Association's quarterly luncheon Thursday.
The luncheon, to be held at , will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The association will also give out its quarterly public safety awards to Buckhead police, fire department and Fulton Sheriff's Department representatives.
“The state of Georgia is honored to have the service of such an exceptional woman like Stacey Abrams,” Lolita B. Jackson, BBA president, said in a statement. “Her entrepreneurship, philanthropy and political prowess are great examples for our BBA membership and we are thankful to have her as the keynote speaker for our last quarterly luncheon of the year.”

Rerpesenting the 84th House District, Abrams is the first woman to lead either party in the Georgia General Assembly and is the first African-American to lead the House of Representatives, according to a BBA news release. A graduate of Yale Law School, she is the chief executive officer of SageWorks, a legal advisory firm that serves as General Counsel for the Atlanta Dream WNBA professional basketball team.
Abrams also co-founded and acts as chief operating officer of the Insomnia Group, a firm specializing in development, investment and consulting for complex infrastructure projects. Another venture of hers is Nourish, Inc. a beverage company with a focus on infants and toddlers, which she co-founded and serves as COO.

The cost of the luncheon is $50 for members and $75 for nonmembers. Because of the luncheon, the BBA's regular weekly breakfast meeting won't be held.
