Kroger's 'Bringing Hope to the Table' Campaign Donates $37,000 to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Atlanta

Kroger's 'Bringing Hope to the Table' Campaign Donates $37,000 to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Atlanta.

As food banks across the nation look for more ways to meet rising needs of their communities, Kroger’s Atlanta Division continues its mission of β€œBringing Hope to the Table” with a $37,000 donation to St. Vincent de Paul Society in Atlanta.

β€œThe generosity of our vendor partners, customers and associates has made this donation to St. Vincent de Paul possible,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. β€œWith more than 50 million Americans uncertain of where their next meal may come from, it is crucial we all help eliminate hunger in our communities.”

Across the United States, one in six people is faced with hunger each day. Through Kroger’s β€œBringing Hope to the Table” campaign – an annual partnership with Feeding America – The Kroger Co.’s national, ongoing hunger-relief program brings much needed funds to local food banks. Since its launch in 2006, the program has generated more than $27 million, all of which goes directly to food banks working in Kroger communities. These funds help food banks purchase new trucks, refrigeration equipment, computers and other resources critical to their mission. Together, Kroger customers and vendors play an instrumental role in this effort.

The Society supports 38 food pantries throughout North and Middle Georgia all working to feed the hungry in the communities they serve. These food pantries support the work of the St. Vincent de Paul as it responds to help the local needy and hungry. The food inventory – generously supplied by local church members, young people in schools and local businesses – is constantly being depleted and always in need of donations.
