Lovett Evening Education courses begin in March

popular evening education series returns in March with eight offerings, from courses on Abraham Lincoln to ceramics, art history and cooking with herbs.

New this year, a class will showcase speakers from outside of the Lovett community. The β€œAll-Access Pass” features Wes Durham, the radio play-by-play announcer for the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Bob Neal, who called NBA games on TNT and TBS for more than 20 years, who will give an insider's view of sports. They will be joined by Lovett’s varsity football coach Mike Muschamp and varsity lacrosse coach Jim Buczek.

Also leading courses will be Lovett headmaster Billy Peebles, upper school art history teacher Jordan Clark and studio artist and visual arts coordinator Tom Zwierlein. For the first time, retired American history teacher and Civil War expert Dick Hall also will teach a course, β€œAtlanta and America’s Civil War.”

Net proceeds ofΒ  the evening education program, which began in 2009, benefit need-based financial aid for Lovett students. Courses range in price from $60 to $95. Courses begin on Monday, March 12.
