MARIETTA COUNTRY CLUB LAUNCHES TOURNAMENT Proceeds Benefit WellStar Cancer Network

WellStar Cancer Network received a Christmas gift this week from Marietta Country Club's first Thanksgiving Golf Classic.

WellStar Foundation received a Christmas gift this week from a Marietta Country Club golf tournament. Marietta Country Club & Friends announced a gift of $18,300 benefitting WellStar Cancer Network from the inaugural Thanksgiving Golf Classic.

β€œIt is only fitting that we honor the WellStar Cancer Network,” said Tom Roberts, Marietta Country Club president. β€œCancer has touched the lives of many members of the club as well as the community at large. Many among us have benefited from the care that WellStar and the other cancer treatment facilities provide this community.”

Prior to Jack A. Miller’s death in 2013, the Marietta Country Club member envisioned a tournament honoring WellStar Cancer Network, an organization that aided and cared for him in his fight against cancer. The tournament was organized by Steve Fisher, Micky Blackwell and Jerry Mann in Miller’s honor.
