The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Buckhead.
Hi all. It's me, Addy Adds, your host of the Buckhead Daily. Come along to find out the most important things happening around town. Today we'll cover these stories and more:
- Community events and political happenings.
- The 2022 Midterm Election.
- Events around the neighborhood.
But first, today's weather:
Sunny; nice, low humidity. High: 81 Low: 61.
Here are the top four stories today in Buckhead:
- The family of Jacqueline Mixon, a 78 year-old woman who was killed in the Piedmont Hospital parking deck, are expressing concern that no justice will come for her death. Mixon, a former Douglas County Sheriff Deputy, was killed in a Buckhead parking deck on March 1 when Gloria Franklin, 69, tackled her, which knocked her out before she was driven over by a SUV. A judge granted bond to Franklin in the spring, which pushed the case down the queue and backlog of unindicted cases which date back to former DA Paul Howard. (Free: WSB Atlanta)
- The Buckhead Community Improvement District is reminding residents that the 2022 State of Buckhead Survey will close today and that input should be submitted by then. (Free: Buckhead Community Improvement District Facebook)
- Buckhead City Committee CEO Bill White is requesting feedback on Buckhead City. He said that secession would be better for the community, making it a safer and more efficient municipality. (Free: BillWhiteBuckheadCity2023 Instagram)
