The mother of a three-year-old toddler who accidentally shot himself while playing with a gun in a northwest Atlanta apartment complex has been charged with child cruelty and reckless conduct for leaving three unsecured and loaded firearms in the apartment.

According to WSB-TV, police say that 22-year-old Angel Douglas had a 12 gauge shotgun, an AK-47, and a pistol inside her apartment in the Allen Hills complex on Middleton Road. The toddler, Tradon Crawford, allegedly shot himself in the face with one of the firearms on the evening of Aug. 14. The child is in stable condition at the hospital.

Douglas was arrested on Aug. 15 and charged for leaving the weapons loaded and unsecured around children. She posted a $10,000 bond on Sunday and was released from the Fulton County Jail.
