Turner Broadcasting Cutting Workforce

Turner Broadcasting, which employs thousands people around the world, is scaling back its American operations through hundreds of employee buyouts, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The AJC says that further job cuts in the form of layoffs are expected before the end of the year. Although workforce reductions are coming to Atlanta, Turner Broadcasting does plan to keep its major operations headquartered here. Turner Broadcasting is one of the city’s largest employers.

Half of Turner Broadcasting’s 13,000 employees work in the Atlanta area for companies like CNN, Headline News, Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, and other channels.
