• Canton man accused of assaulting 14-year-old who missed the bus (fox5atlanta.com subscription) — Cherokee County deputies say a 14-year-old walking along Hickory Road was allegedly lured into a truck and assaulted at an unspecified location in Canton before being returned near her school. Investigators used automated license plate readers to identify and arrest a 42-year-old Canton resident, who is being held without bond on multiple serious charges while the case moves toward a preliminary hearing.
