The victim told deputies he was robbed at gunpoint by two men who entered his room after he answered a knock at his door at the motel.
The victim, who told police he didn't know the suspects at the time of the incident, said the two men allegedly came into the room, grabbed him around the neck and began to choke him. The suspects stole about $6,500 in cash, a cell phone and keys, and allegedly told the victim "harm would be done to him" if he called 911, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office notes Johnson was aware that the victim had money "due to her having been at the victim's room prior to the incident." The robbery, the sheriff's office added, took place after Johnson left the room.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office at 770-382-5050 ext. 6026.
