2 People Stabbed, Man Charged With Aggravated Assault: Police
An altercation between a man and a Moose Lodge employee resulted in a stabbing Saturday, according to police.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — A man is charged after police say he stabbed two people around 11:45 p.m. Saturday during an altercation at the Moose Lodge, 314 N. Dixie Avenue.
Paul Cook, 43, of Cartersville, is charged on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault, according to the Cartersville Police Department in a case report.
Cook is accused of being escorted out of the lodge by an employee for threatening to hit another person with a beer bottle at the time of the first stabbing, police said.

The worker initially assumed he'd been punched by Cook but said Cook stabbed him in his chin, police said. Another man intervened and was stabbed across the top and side of his right index finger, police said.
The second man punched Cook, causing Cook to fall to the ground and hit his head, police said, noting a witness said Cook dropped the knife after landing on the ground.

The witness said he stepped on the knife and held it there on the ground until officers arrived, police said.
The worker had injuries that were not life threatening, according to the case report.
Cook was found laying near the front door of the lodge with a large knot on the back of his head, police said. Blood was spattered on the ground, police said.
Both men who were stabbed were taken to Cartersville Medical Center, police said.
Cook, who is accused of admitting he had three knives on him, was eventually taken to the Bartow County Jail after receiving medical treatment, police said.
