5-Year-Old Saves Family Of 9 From House Fire In Bartow County

"By the grace of God, all nine of our loved ones were able to get out of our home," the little boy's grandfather, David Woods, said.

BARTOW COUNTY, GA—A brave little boy is being called a hero by his family after safely getting them out of their burning house over the weekend.

Noah Wood, 5, woke up Saturday to flames beside his bed. Without hesitation he quickly jumped into action by picking up his little sister next to him. He then opened the bedroom window and and climbed out of it and ran next door to get help from his uncle.

"I picked Lily up, got to the window with Lily, got the dog and got out," Noah told WSB-TV.

Within minutes, Noah and his uncle alerted the rest of the family upstairs that the house was on fire. They were all able to get out safely, according to Noah's grandfather, David Woods.

"By the grace of God, all nine of our loved ones were able to get out of our home. If it wasn't for Noah, we may not be here today," Noah's grandfather said on his GoFundMe page.

According to David, the cause of the fire, which started in the children's room, was electrical. He says their home is a total loss.

The family did not have insurance, which is why Noah's grandfather recently launched an online fundraiser.

"We are planning to rebuild and will likely need to stay in a motel for some time and likely rent a small house while we work to earn funding and build," he said on GoFundMe. "It's difficult for us to ask for help from our community; however, we know this feat is too great for us to achieve alone."

The family is hoping to raise at least $75,000. As of Tuesday, the family had raised $550. If you would like to help the family rebuild, click on this link to help.
