Angelo's Reopens After Salmonella Outbreak
The restaurant voluntarily closed after food it served at a Toyo Tire employee catering event sickened dozens and hospitalized 5 people.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A Bartow County restaurant is back open after voluntarily closing in light of food it provided at an employee catering event sickened dozens of people. Angelo's New York Style Pizza and Bistro said Monday on its Facebook page that's open and ready to serve the recipes that have made the eatery popular with customers.
"Today we will be open regular hours," the restaurant on Henderson Drive in Cartersville said. "We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday."
The Georgia Department of Public Health Northwest Georgia District continues to investigate the foodborne illness outbreak, which was caused by salmonella contaminating food served Nov. 14-15 to employees at Toyo Tire. The outbreak sickened dozens and hospitalized five people, the state said.
