Anheuser-Busch Sends Emergency Drinking Water To Albany

The company's Cartersville brewery delivered 50,000 cans of water to the South Georgia city hit hard by storms.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Anheuser-Busch has dispatched 50,000 cans of emergency canned drinking water to Albany to support people in the community affected by the damaging storm that hit the community last week.

The shipment, which amounted to one truckload of water, was in response to a request from the American Red Cross.

The water, which was shipped from the company's Cartersville brewery, arrived Monday afternoon and will be distributed throughout the community.

Beer production at the facility is periodically paused throughout the year to enable the emergency canned drinking water to be produced, so as to be ready to send to American communities in times of disaster.

In 2016, Anheuser-Busch donated and shipped well over 1 million cans of water to support communities hit by disasters including the California bush fires, the Louisiana floods and Hurricane Matthew.

“Throughout the year we periodically pause beer production at our brewery to can drinking water so we are ready to help out our neighbors in times of disaster," said Cartersville Brewmaster Sarah Schilling. "We are humbled to provide this water to those in need. Putting our production and logistics strengths to work by providing safe, clean drinking water is the best way we can help right now.”
