The show opens Nov. 5, and will feature work from all three grade levels as well as the school’s Art Club.

“Our students have been hard at work and are excited to unveil their new projects,” said art teacher Abby Hennington. “They have been preparing for the upcoming show for over a year. Work began on our Mona Lisa canvas project in the fall of 2014.”

The art students will debut new projects -- which are months in the making -- at this art show.

The seventh-grade students prepared watercolor paintings showing linear perspective. The students used historic buildings located in Euharlee for their inspiration.

Art Club members incorporated math and art skills for the Mona Lisa project.

“They are excited to unveil her at the show opening on Nov. 5, and are very proud of the huge amount of work that they put into this canvas project,” she added.

The public is welcome to come to the opening reception, which is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

“Our local students are so talented, and we thought it was a natural partnership between the welcome center and museum and the middle school,” explained Katie Gobbi, Euharlee Welcome Center and History Museum Director. “This is another opportunity for their art to be displayed in public to share with the community.”

The WMSE Art Program is always looking for gently used materials and art supplies. A supply wish list is available at euharleehistory.org. Donations will be collected at the reception and during the duration of the exhibit.

The temporary exhibit will run through February. The Euharlee Welcome Center and History Museum is located at 33 Covered Bridge Road. For more information, visit its website or call 770-607-2017.
