Bartow County Men Killed In I-75 Crash
The two men died late last week in the collision in Whitfield County, the Georgia State Patrol said.

DALTON, GA — Two Bartow County men died in a three-vehicle crash last week on Interstate 75 in northwest Georgia, the Georgia State Patrol said.
A two-axle, single-unit truck was traveling southbound in the right lane on Interstate 75 Thursday afternoon in Whitfield County near Dalton while a tractor trailer and a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck were going in the same direction in the center and left lanes, respectively.
The driver of the single-unit truck, identified as Chadwick Pair, 27, of Calhoun, made an improper lane change and collided with the tractor trailer's front right corner with its left side, GSP said. This initial collision caused the single-unit truck to rotate counter-clockwise and travel into the left lane. The Chevrolet then struck the single-unit truck on the left side, and both of those vehicles traveled into the median.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the single unit truck driver was injured and airlifted to the hospital for treatment. Two passengers in the vehicle, Calhoun residents Micah Payne, 35, and Jason Banks, 40, were both injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment. However, two additional passengers, identified as Cody Angel, 23, of Rydal and William Clegg, 36, of Adairsville, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Broderick Williams, 32, of Stone Mountain, was not injured. Jesus Quezada, 49 of Dalton, the man behind the wheel of the Chevrolet, did suffer injuries, but was not transported for treatment.
The GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting a follow-up investigation, and charges are pending the completion of that report, the agency added.
