  1. Help locate a runaway juvenile: BCSO needs your assistance locating Miranda Reese, age 16. Miranda was last seen December 30th walking towards the woods behind the CVS on Joe Frank Harris Pkwy. Anyone with any information regarding Miranda Reese is asked to call the Bartow County Sheriff's Office at 770-382-5050 ext 7 or ext 6011. (Bartow County Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
  2. Proclamation program returns to in-person meeting: The Bartow County Emancipation Proclamation program had its first in-person gathering since COVID-19. Emancipation Proclamation Committee of Bartow County co-chair Ken Reaves opened the meeting at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church on Jan. 2. and Randy Livsey, pastor of the church, was the featured speaker. Issued on Jan. 1, 1863, the Emancipation Proclamation was President Abraham Lincoln's executive order declaring millions of slaves to be free men and women. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
  3. Restaurant, condo association battles over parking spaces: More than five years after a legal dispute between Los Arcos and its condominium association began, the restaurant is now closed until further notice. Los Arcos' last day to legally use the association's parking lot was Dec. 31. The restaurant has purchased two lots next door for parking space of their own, but has hit construction delays.
