Cartersville Bluegrass & Folk Festival Set For Oct. 21

The fifth-annual event, which is free, will be held Saturday in downtown Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The fifth annual Cartersville Bluegrass and Folk Festival this weekend, providing local residents and visitors a family-friendly opportunity to take in the sounds of local, regional and national bands, savor delicious bites and allow the youngsters to participate in children's activities.

The free event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 in downtown Cartersville. This year's lineup will feature 14 performances from music acts, the Kids' Corner (located in the parking lot next to the water fountain) and vendors of all kinds.

Here's a rundown of the schedule of bands set to appear on the two stages at the festival:

Depot Stage

  • Luther’s Mountain Band – 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
  • Max & Maggie and the Sugar Creek Stompers – 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
  • Old Mill Road – 1:30 pm. to 2:15 p.m.
  • Pea Valley Flyers – 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
  • Wiseman Brothers – 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  • Jayron Weaver – 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
  • The Clydes – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Firehouse Stage

  • Fish and Picks – noon to 12:45 p.m.
  • McKee, Goodwin & Haigler – 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
  • Owens Brothers – 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
  • Double Cross – 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
  • Bonaventure Quartet – 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
  • Grandpa’s Cough Medicine, including Isaac Corbitt on Harmonica – 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In October 2013, the Cartersville Downtown Development Authority and Main Street Program rolled out the festival to help promote the community and local musicians. Since its inception, the event has grown in popularity.
