Brewery Ships Emergency Drinking Water To Flint, Michigan

Cartersville, GA -- Anheuser-Busch is providing 2,156 cases of emergency drinking water — or 51,744 cans — for residents of Flint, Michigan in need of clean drinking water.

Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville brewery will send a truck loaded with water to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, which is supplying water to area residents in need.

The water will arrive the first week of February at the Food Bank’s request.

“Anheuser-Busch is committed to supporting local communities,” said Bill Bradley, vice president of Community Affairs for Anheuser-Busch. “This is one way we can help our friends and neighbors in a time of need.”

Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 74 million cans of emergency drinking water following natural and other disasters. Earlier this month, the company donated 188,000 cans of water for residents of Missouri and Oklahoma affected by flooding and winter storms.

Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to the Red Cross for victims of the San Francisco earthquake.

Today, in addition to providing monetary support as a member of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, Anheuser-Busch packages emergency drinking water and works with the Red Cross and other emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.
