Cartersville Christmas Parade Set For Dec. 7
The parade, which starts at 6 p.m., will be preceded by free photos with Santa Claus and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The 2017 holiday season will officially come to Bartow County next week, as the 2017 Cartersville Exchange Club Christmas Parade will make its way through the downtown area. The parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7.
The Bucket Brigade will return to collect donations that will benefit three local charities, Advocates for Children, Boys and Girls Club of Bartow County and Bartow Christmas Coalition.
The parade lineup begins at 4 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church's parking lot. At 6 p.m., parade participants will leave the parking lot, turn right onto Church Street, left at Bartow Street, left at Main Street, left at Stonewall Street, left at Church Street, right at Tennessee Street, left at Howard Street and will proceed back to the church parking lot.

You can expect the parade to feature an appearance by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. The deadline to submit an application to take part in the parade was Nov. 30. Any applications submitted after this date will incur a $50 fee.
If you're looking for something to do in the moments before the parade, the Cartersville Downtown Development Authority will host its Free Pictures with Santa and Christmas tree lighting from 4-6 p.m. at Friendship Plaza. This event will include music, dance performances and photos with the Jolly Old Elf. The photos will be free, courtesy of Cindy Harter Photography. Mayor Matt Santini will lead the tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m.

In the event of inclement weather, the Cartersville Exchange Club will reschedule the parade for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14.
