The Camaro was then hit by a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Rubija Hadzic, 46, of St. Louis, Missouri, which caused the Camaro to once again leave the roadway and hit a guardrail.

The Camaro eventually came to an uncontrolled stop in the middle of the southbound lanes and was hit on the right side by a 1994 Honda Civic driven by 38-year-old Cayetano Garcia Corre of Cartersvile.

A total of five people were injured in the accident, and they were transported to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment, Young said. Correa did not survive the crash.

Young added the Jetta had a total of two occupants while three people were inside the the Camaro at the time of the crash.

Bowers, the driver of the Camaro, was charged with second degree vehicular homicide, failure to maintain lane, driving too fast for conditions and tire requirements. Blood alcohol results are also pending, the spokesperson said.
