Cartersville Man Charged With Kidnapping, Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend
A 21-year-old woman told authorities her ex-boyfriend on July 22 kidnapped and raped her at a Motel 6 located on Highway 20.

A Cartersville man has been arrested and charged for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
Dwayne Tyrone Arnold was arrested during the evening hours on Wednesday, Aug. 6 during a traffic stop initiated by the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force. Arnold, 25, has been charged under the Family Violence Act with aggravated battery, terroristic threats and acts, aggravated sodomy, kidnapping and rape, the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Deputies on Tuesday, July 22 responded to the Cartersville Medical Center around 1:45 p.m. in reference to a woman who said she was kidnapped and assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.

The woman, 21, said at around 2 a.m. July 22, she’d just finished working and went to a friend’s home on Highway 20 in Cartersville. The victim told the deputies she was inside her vehicle at her friend’s home when Arnold allegedly blocked her vehicle in the driveway with his own vehicle.
“Arnold approached the victim’s vehicle on the driver’s side, punched her in the jaw and forced her to get into the passenger seat,” the sheriff’s office said. The agency reported the woman was punched “several more times” while Arnold reportedly drove her to Motel 6 at 5659 Highway 20 where she was raped and assaulted.

Arnold is currently in custody at the Bartow County Adult Detention Center pending a Bartow County Superior Court bond hearing.
