Cartersville Man Injured After Propane Tank Caught Fire: Report
A 56-year-old Cartersville man was taken to the hospital after he suffered second degree burns after a propane tank caught fire.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — A 56-year-old Cartersville man was taken to the hospital after he suffered second degree burns after a propane tank caught fire.
At 10:35 a.m. on March 13, Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services received a report of a 58-year-old male with second degree burns to his upper torso. The man said he was changing a propane cylinder to heat a tent. It spewed fuel and caught the tent on fire. The fire was extinguished, and the man was turned over to Metro EMS.
Two other fires occurred over the weekend, including just before midnight on March 11, a structure at 380 Peeples Valley Rd NE caught fire.

The caller said a trailer caught on fire on the construction site, with flames and smoke. The fire was extinguished. There was moderate damage to the structure, but no injuries were reported.
At 6:15 p.m. on March 13, a fire at 4540 April Lane SE, in Acworth was reported. Officials were not able to see a fire at first arrival. But the homeowner complained of a smell of smoke or plastic burning inside the mobile home. Fire personnel checked the home and found no fire. Scene was turned back over to the homeowners.
