Cartersville Resident Puts Up A Fight Against Home Intruder
The following information was obtained from an incident report released by the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A Bartow County resident wasn't about to allow a home intruder ruin his Wednesday evening.
The man was able to successfully prevent the subject from burglarizing his home in the 500 block of Cedar Creek Road in Cartersville.
A deputy with the sheriff's office was dispatched around 10:17 p.m. March 8 to the home, which is located off U.S. 41/Joe Frank Harris Parkway northwest of the Cassville community.

The sheriff's deputy met with the victim, who said he was walking through the home when he saw his front door open slowly, a report released by the Bartow County Sheriff's Office states.
As he approached the door, the resident discovered an intruder attempting to enter the home. He was able to pin the man into the door and "began to strike him several times in the face," according to the report.

The resident was able to shove the male into the porch railing and as he went to retrieve a shotgun, the subject fled through the wooded area south from the home.
According to the report, the resident described the subject as a black male who appeared to be in his late 20's or early 30's, with facial hair and a short haircut. He also noted the subject was wearing blue jeans, a black and white plaid shirt, and a belt buckle that resembled a marijuana leaf.
The resident also told police he noticed were "suspicious persons around his residence earlier in the week," but didn't make a report of the observation.
