Cartersville School Board Approves New Superintendent's Contract
Cartersville High School Principal Dr. Marc Feuerbach will succeed Dr. Howard Hinesley as superintendent on July 1, 2018.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Cartersville City School Board has formally appointed one of its principals to become the system's next superintendent. The board at its Nov. 13 meeting approved a contract with Dr. Marc Feuerbach, the principal at Cartersville High School, to succeed Dr. Howard Hinesley as superintendent.
Dr. Hinesley will retire June 30, 2018, and his successor will begin his tenure July 1, 2018, according to the three-year contract's terms. Dr. Feuerbach will be paid an annual salary of $150,000 and will be given a $750 monthly stipend to be used towards transportation costs related to the school district.
Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Feuerbach obtained his bachelor's degree in history from the University of Florida. He received his master's degree from Kennesaw State University and his doctorate from Valdosta State University.

His teaching career began at Gordon Central High School and after serving as a special needs educator, he was appointed assistant principal at the school. In 2010, he was named principal of Ashworth Middle School, also in Gordon County, and became Calhoun Elementary School's principal three years later.
He moved to Cartersville High School in July 2014. While employed with Cartersville City Schools, Dr. Feuerbach has completed the Superintendent Professional Development Program coordinated by the Georgia School Superintendent’s Association. He is married and has two children who attend Cartersville City schools.
