Chief: Police Working 2 "Very Good" Leads in Euharlee Drive-By Shooting

A teenager suffered cuts to her feet as she fled the shooting overnight Sunday just west of Cartersville.

Euharlee’s police chief said his agency continues to investigate a drive-by shooting that targeted a home over the weekend.

“We are working two very good leads at this time,” Chief Terry Harget told Cartersville Patch.

Police say the shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14 on Winchester Drive. Harget said the suspects fired 10 rounds from an AK 47 around the front door of the home. A 16-year-old who suffered cuts to her feet from broken glass while fleeing the shooting refused treatment, Harget said.

Witnesses noticed a vehicle leaving the area, and officers are following up on those leads. Harget said the family— described as “very quiet and neighborly” — has lived in the house for 12 years.

Additionally, detectives are also following up on leads based upon interviews with other relatives in connection to the shooting, Harget said.
