  1. City general fund posts a $1 million loss: The City of Cartersville's total general fund revenues came in at almost $2.1 million in September, with expenditures surpassing $2.7 million. City of Cartersville Finance Director Tom Rhinehart provided year to date figures indicating the city has generated roughly $6.3 million in general fund revenues for fiscal year '23, with expenses at $7.4 million to date. While the loss is at a little over $1 million, it's still an improvement over the losses from September 2021, which was over $1.83 million. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
  2. A man has been charged in tje abduction of a 10-month-old boy: Officials have arrested a man in connection to a reported child abduction. Investigators were able to make contact with the man and get him to take the child to a relative. The infant was taken back to his mother unharmed. Police said the man is being charged on suspicion of kidnapping, felony theft and robbery in Bartow County and additional charges in Monroe. He also has outstanding warrants in Cherokee County.   3. A man was charged with sex crimes: On Friday morning, Cartersville Police booked a Cartersville man into the Bartow County jail on multiple charges. Those charges include exploitation and intimidation of a vulnerable person, rape, sodomy, incest and aggravated sexual battery. (wbhfradio.org)
