A woman was fatally shot by a man at a home on Winchester Drive in Euharlee, which is west of Cartersville.

The identity of the man and woman who died Monday afternoon in an apparent murder-suicide has been released.
Jacques Antoine, 39, allegedly shot and killed 33-year-old Charlette Singletary at a home on Winchester Drive in Euharlee before turning the gun onto himself, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Euharlee Police Chief Terry Harget said the incident stemmed from a “domestic issue,” but stopped short in providing details on what the couple had been discussing about.
Euharlee officers responded to the home around 1:40 p.m. March 2 and discovered Singletary on the back porch of the home ”with numerous gunshot wounds,” Bartow County Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Brad Cothran previously told Patch.

The woman was transported to Cartersville Medical Center where she later passed away from her injuries.
Harget said a SWAT Team attempted to make contact with Antione, but were unsuccessful in their efforts. They eventually obtained a search warrant for the residence and upon entering the home, they discovered the man’s body.
The chief said Antione most likely shot himself “probably right after he’d shot the female.”
Harget noted the incident highlights the need for residents to remain vigilant in watching for signs of trouble among their neighbors.
“This is a very tragic event,” he added. ”This is something that can happen in a small or large city.”
