Cracker Barrel Scores 80, or B, on Follow-Up Inspection

Just days after failing its March 4 food service inspection conducted by the Bartow County Environmental Health Department, Cracker Barrel at 5631 Highway 20 in Cartersville was subject to a follow-up inspection late last week.

The restaurant on March 13 scored an 80, or B, on its inspection. Some of the latest violations noted by the inspector include:

• Worker seen handling ready to eat bacon with bare hands when glove or utensil use is required;
• Workers wearing Band-Aids without proper gloving or finger cots;
• Observed old food stuck/splashed on clean dishware and pans; removed to be rewashed also spatulas stained and cracked, which were thrown away;
• In-use utensil not stored on a clean portion of food preparation or cooking equipment. Scoops, etc., in running hot water bath only at 124 degrees; should be 135+ degrees;
• Observed build-up of grease on nonfood-contact surface, the area underside of grill also shelving that microwave is on has grease residue present.
