Here are the top stories in Cartersville today:
- On the morning of October 14, Acworth Police responded to a welfare check and confirmed what appeared to be a deceased body. It was determined the death occurred in Kennesaw and the body had been moved to the Acworth construction site. On October 15, an arrest warrant was secured for an individual charged with concealing the death of another, tampering with evidence, financial transaction card theft (x4), and multiple drug charges. - The city of Cartersville Planning Commission voted to recommend the approval of a text amendment to the office-commercial zoning district ordinance. This would allow a proposal for "private parks" pending an authorized special use permit. At the Oct. 11 meeting, the commission also voted to recommend the requested permit be approved. - A Cartersville man is charged after he allegedly stabbed two people during an altercation at the Moose Lodge Saturday night. Both stabbing victims were taken to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center for treatment. After receiving treatment, the assailant was taken to the Bartow County Jail and charged on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault, according to the Cartersville Police Department.
