Teen Injured When Vehicle Leaves Roadway, Strikes Tree (UPDATED)
The accident occurred late Thursday evening on Mission Road near Sugar Valley Road in Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A 16-year-old motorist was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital Thursday evening following a single-vehicle accident in Bartow County.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 2002 Toyota Tundra was traveling around 9:52 p.m. on Mission Road south of Sugar Valley Road when the driver "failed to maintain his lane and left the west side of the roadway."
The vehicle then re-entered the road and began to spin clockwise.

After that maneuver, the truck left the west side of the roadway, overturned on its left side and struck a tree with its roof, the agency stated.
The truck's driver, Kingston resident Garrett Alexander Geros, 16, was injured.

Brad Cothran, spokesman with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services, said the teen was entrapped in the vehicle and a quick assessment found the driver had "numerous injuries and severe injuries to both legs."
The teen was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. No charges were filed in the crash, the Georgia State Patrol added.
