UPDATE: Elderly Cartersville Man Returns Home in "Good Health"

A Mattie's Call has been issued for Sammie Ramey, 78, who was last seen early Wednesday morning.

UPDATE at 4:09 p.m: The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office said Ramey has returned home and “is in good health.”

“We appreciate the public assistance in watching for Mr. Ramey,” Sgt. Jonathan Rogers with the sheriff’s office said.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations have issued a Mattie’s Call alert for a missing elderly Cartersville man.

Sammie Ramey, 78, was last seen after dropping his son off at Kennesaw State University just after 4 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Ramey is described as a black male, 5’11” tall, 149 pounds with brown eyes, gray hair and mustache. He was last wearing a gray, long-sleeved button up shirt, blue jeans with holes at the knees and a red jacket. He was driving a white 2014 Dodge Journey with bearing Georgia handicapped license plate TBQ024. Ramey has early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease and “is easily agitated and confused,” the sheriff’s office said.

Anyone who sees Ramey or his vehicle is asked to call the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center at 770-387-5195.
