Father Killed, Son Injured In New Year's Crash
The accident was reported just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday on S.R. 293 near Kingston.

KINGSTON, GA -- A Bartow County father was killed and his son was injured in a single-vehicle accident late Sunday evening in Bartow County.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a white Ford pickup truck was traveling southeast around 10:37 p.m. on S.R. 293 just west of Law Road when the vehicle entered a left curve, "but traveled off the right roadside and struck multiple trees and a fence."
The vehicle overturned and came to a rest on its top.

The driver of the truck, identified as Robert Burton, 62, of Kingston, was pronounced dead at the scene. His son, Benjamin Burton, 25, who was a passenger inside the truck, was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome with minor injuries, the agency said.
Both occupants of the truck, the Georgia State Patrol stated, were wearing their seatbelts. Additionally, both the driver and passenger airbags deployed in the crash.
