- 'Whisper' began at Adairsville Middle School in the 2021-2022 school year and is making big changes with students within the Bartow County School System. Representatives of the "peer-to-peer" movement spoke recently at the Bartow County School Board of Education meeting on Feb. 6th. - A Cartersville man pled guilty to child molestation charges and was sentenced on Feb. 7 to a forty-year prison sentence. He was found "illegally taking Native American artifacts from a site in Bartow County" and his phone was subsequently searched. Explicit photos were found and turned over to the GBI, which resulted in the charges. The first 25 years of his sentence will be served in state prison, with the rest served on probation.
