The shift will occur along S.R. 113 at Taff Road on Thursday, Sept. 17. Traffic will be shifted to the outside east and westbound lanes to complete work on the median.
“We certainly hope that all motorists watch out for this traffic shift and be extra cautious, while approaching this work zone,” said DeWayne Comer, district engineer at the DOT office in Cartersville. “This project may be causing the public some inconvenience, but upon completion, it will improve the flow of traffic on SR 113, make it safer, and help the public get where they need to go in Bartow County.”

This construction operation is part of a 3.777-mile project of widening and reconstruction on S.R. 113 beginning west of Taft Road and extending to east of Old Alabama Road.
It also includes the relocation of Old Alabama Road and construction of three bridges and their approaches within the project’s limits.
This project has been under construction since February 2013, and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2015, at a construction cost of $16.9 million.
