The informal-style open house will be held at the Living Way Community Center, which is located at 118 East George Street in Adairsville.

Anyone who is interested in learning about the project -- and the subsequent detouring of traffic off Old Highway 41 -- is encouraged to attend the meeting.
“We would like to hear the viewpoints and concerns of all area residents,” said DeWayne Comer, district engineer at the Georgia DOT office in Cartersville.
The proposed plans call for the replacement of the existing bridge on S.R. 3/US 41 over Old Highway 41, located about 4 miles south of the city of Adairsville.
Since there is no suitable detour route for U.S. 41 at this location, the new bridge will be constructed directly adjacent to the existing bridge on the eastern side of S.R. 3/ U.S. 41. This will allow the highway to remain open during construction.
The existing bridge was built in 1949, and Georgia DOT inspectors recently concluded that this bridge was structurally deficient and recommended it be replaced.
“The Georgia DOT strongly believes that since this project is intended to serve the people of Bartow County, the ideas and preferences of these people are important,” Comer added. “This meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to review the proposed project and detour route, ask questions, and express their preferences.”
For anyone who can’t attend next week’s open house, you can submit written statements concerning the project until Tuesday, Feb. 23 to:
