Hurricane Matthew: Bartow EMS Help Transport Hospital Patients

One ambulance and two crew members left on Thursday to relocate patients from the Southeast Georgia Health System's Brunswick Campus.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- An ambulance crew from Bartow County Emergency Medical Services has been dispatched to Brunswick to help relocate patients at local hospitals in areas that will be slammed by Hurricane Matthew.

The agency was contacted at noon Thursday by the Georgia Department of Public Health's EMS division to help with the operation, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

Cothran said the two-person crew will help transport patients from the Southeast Georgia Health System's Brunswick campus. The initial patients slated to be moved was around 140, but the total number may change, he added.
