Jeff Lewis Re-elected To State Transportation Board

The former state representative is a member of the Cartersville Exchange Club and the Cartersville Lions Club.

Atlanta, GA -- Former State Representative Jeff Lewis was re-elected to the State Transportation Board on Wednesday by a caucus of state representatives and senators from the 11th Congressional District.

Lewis, who was first elected to the board in 2011, begins his second term on April 16.

The 11th Congressional District is comprised of Bartow, Cherokee and portions of Cobb and north Fulton counties.

Lewis chairs the Board’s Intermodal Committee, and serves on the Legislative, Public Private Partnerships (P3) and Property Utilization committees.

“It is an incredible compliment and honor to be re-elected to serve on the State Transportation Board. I want to express gratitude to those legislators that supported me and allowed me the opportunity to continue to serve the State,” Lewis said. “Additionally, it means I get to work hand in hand with them and the local governments within my Congressional District on projects to ensure we meet constituents’ expectations to maintain and deliver transportation infrastructure.”

Lewis served as a state representative in the Georgia House for 16 years and chaired the Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee.

The self-employed small businessman is a Rome native and resides in Cartersville. Lewis has a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy and an MBA in economics and finance from Jacksonville State University.

He is a member of the Cartersville Exchange Club and the Cartersville Lions Club.

The 14-member State Transportation Board determines policy and generally governs the Georgia Department of Transportation. Each member is elected by a caucus of Georgia General Assembly members from their specific Congressional district. Board members serve staggered, five-year terms.
