Man Shot in Leg, Abdomen in Cartersville

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A man was flown to an Atlanta hospital for treatment after he was found with at least two gunshot wounds.

Crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services responded to the call Tuesday at Parkway North motel, which is at 1400 Joe Frank Harris Parkway.

Those first responders arrived on the scene to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg as well as the abdomen, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

A helicopter was requested for rapid transport to a level-one trauma center, and EMS crews started advanced treatment for the patient.

The man was subsequently flown to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. Patch is working to determine which agency is investigating the shooting.
