Man Threatens To Jump From I-75 Bridge: Bartow EMS

BARTOW COUNTY, GA -- A man has been transported to an area hospital for evaluation after he was talked out of jumping from a bridge Tuesday morning.

Crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services, Bartow County sheriff's deputies and other agencies all descended onto the northbound side of Interstate 75 at the Groovers Landing Road overpass to find a "male subject standing on the bridge," said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

The Groovers Landing overpass is in the Acworth area, north of the Glade Road interchange.

Cothran said the man was "possibly threatening to jump onto the interstate."

First responders were able to safely remove the male from the bridge, and transport him to the hospital for treatment.
