In Memory: Helena Williams, Loved Hosting Friends, Family at Home
The Cartersville resident, who was a retired cosmetologist, also enjoyed shopping, wearing hats, dressing up, cooking and baking.

Helena McAfee Williams, 80, of Cartersville, GA passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home.
Helena McAfee Williams was born on Aug. 12, 1935, in Cartersville Georgia, to the late LeRoy McAfee and Florence Anna Hiawatha Dyer McAfee Childers.

She joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized in the Atco Creek. She was an active member, attending Sunday school, 2nd Service and Bible Study.
Helena was educated in the Cartersville City School System and graduated from Summer Hill High School. She received her cosmetology licenses from Atlanta Apex Cosmetology College.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late John Willie Williams Sr., and to this union, 13 children were born.
Helena retired from her cosmetology career after twenty two years. After thirty three years of service, she retired from Union Carbide. She was currently working with the after school program at the United Methodist Church, Cartersville, Ga.
She was well loved by those that knew her. Helena loved cooking, baking, shopping and wearing hats and dressing up. She was her happiest when her house was full of friends and family, sitting around eating and talking and having fun.
Left to cherish her memories children, Valena Livsey, Rhonda Sue Henderson, Jacquelyn Patton (Wesley), Myra A. Williams, John Willie Williams,Jr. (Margie), Debona Williams and Brent K. Williams (Kathleen); one sister, Sarah Mobley; one aunt, Beulah Sloan; 77 grand, great grand and great great grandchildren and a host of loving devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
