Here are the top three stories today in Cartersville:

  1. A 21-year-old-man has been charged with aggravated assault. In an unprovoked machete attack at the Crown Inn, the suspect threatened the victim's life and struck his motel room door with the blade. In addition to the assault charge, he is also facing "one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass-damage to private property." (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
  2. The Cartersville BOE has made instructional resource purchases totaling over $350,000. The hefty investment will provide STEM learning in the primary, elementary, middle and high schools. Also purchased was new flooring for the central office and roller shades for the new primary school. (wbhfradio.org)
  3. Cartersville City Council will meet tonight to discuss rezoning issues, purchases and the "proposed amendment to the cities [sic] panhandling ordinance." The city's 2022 audit will also be presented starting at 5:15 p.m. The meeting "will be aired live on WBHF's website, as well as on 1450 A.M. and 100.3 F.M. starting at 7:00 p.m." (wbhfradio.org)
