Mother Dies 2 Weeks After Deadly House Fire
Glenda Croy, 69, passed away on Friday, Jan 12, two weeks after her two sons died in the Dec. 29 fire in Kingston.

KINGSTON, GA — A Bartow County family suffered another blow on Friday, as the woman whose sons died in a Dec. 29 house fire has also succumbed to injuries sustained in the blaze. Glenda Croy died on Jan. 12, two weeks after she was hospitalized after the fire destroyed the home she shared with her husband, David, and two sons, Jeffrey, 39, and Scottie Croy, 42.
Stacy Crider, a family friend who organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the brothers' funeral, said she will keep the campaign going to cover expenses related to Glenda Croy's burial.
"After hearing just yesterday that she was breathing on her own, God exercised his will to bless her with Heaven," Crider added in her message posted on the page. "I am continuing the page, as there are now even more funeral expenses. You all have given so much and I humbly thank you. Please share this post as many times as you can as I know that God is touching other hearts to help. God bless our Ministry Angels."

Bartow County firefighters were dispatched around 1:29 a.m. Dec. 29 to the call of the fire at 24 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Kingston. They arrived on the scene to find the single story house with "moderate fire and heavy smoke showing," Bartow County Fire Department Division Chief David Levey told Patch.
While beginning its initial attack on the fire, crews came upon an elderly man and woman who escaped the house fire. They told firefighters that their two sons were still inside the home. Firefighters performed a search and removed the brothers from the house.

EMS officials attempted to revive both victims, but they were unsuccessful. The Georgia Insurance Commissioner's Office determined to be accidental and possibly caused by an electrical malfunction, spokesperson Glenn Allen previously told Patch.
The brothers' parents, David Croy, 68, and Glenda Croy, 69, were transported to area hospitals where they were treated. David Croy was treated and released from Floyd Medical Center while Glenda remained at WellStar Cobb Hospital until her passing. The Croy brothers were laid to rest on Jan. 10.
The GoFundMe page was established to help the family through this difficult time. Now with Glenda Croy's passing, organizers are hoping to raise $10,000 to help with expenses related to her funeral. As of Saturday morning, $5,549 had been donated by the community.
