ADAIRSVILLE, GA -- A motorist was killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 75 in Bartow County.

The Georgia State Patrol received the call of an accident around 6:44 a.m. May 3, the agency said. Initial reports indicate a passenger vehicle was traveling northbound near mile marker 305 when it "traveled off the roadway and crashed."
The victim, which Bartow County Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Brad Cothran said was a male driver, was ejected and fatally wounded at the scene.

The identity of the victim will be released once the agency can confirm his next of kin has been notified.
